I have a red sofa and love seat and I want to paint my walls but don’t know what color would look good. The sofa isn’t bright red. Any links to pictures would be appreciated also, but not necessary.

Well it depends on your floor colour, lighting and what mood you want. You could paint it a nice maroonish of a nice green. For ideas watch some designing shows and ask around.

I think red would look nice with white since red is such a bold and bright colour

A cream or off white would be very pretty. Too much red in a room is not good.

Stick to beige, off white or light brown with black accents on decorations.

Green. It is the most popular hue of this year, the color green is very diverse, ranging from shades of lush grasses, to crisp celery, to deep olive. Works very well with red furnishings.
Check out some paint manufacturer web sites, such as Behr or Sherwin Williams. They offer tips, on-line color samples, and technology where you can take a digital picture of your room and you can download and change colors. Gives you a realistic sense of how the room will look.

Suggestions:
1] first, avoid other reds. They are very difficult to match.
2] repeat whatever wall color you choose in throw pillows, and use wall. sofa, and a third color for accessories - lamps,
vases, ornaments, flowerpots, candles/holders
3] Try:
white or ivory
dusty rose [ if sofa is a blue-red ]
banana or lemon
mint or sage
forest or moss
sky or smoke blue
teal
caramel, [ espresso accents ]
gray, [ black accents ]
