What is best to have on the back part of a sofa and why? Loose pillows or attached cushions?

We have found a sofa that want to buy. My only concern is if the back cushions are attached, will I be able to fluff them and keep them as even as loose pillows. Any ideas?

Personally, I hate having the loose pillows because one of them got totally out of shape and i can’t get it back to the right shape so the whole couch looks terrible even though it is otherwise in good condition. I would definitely recommend getting the one you like. I don’t know why anyone would want to fluff and arrange pillows if they don’t have to.

i’m also in favour of attached… i hate when they split apart and you hit the back, plus they never stay put and you have to rearrange them.

I have loose pillows - believe me, after you use it a few times, the pillows flatten and are mis-shapen. You can never get them to look good. The couch looks soooo old, especially sitting next to the loveseat which hardly ever gets used and still looks new. *sigh*
Usually back cushions that are attached have zippers on the bottom, you might want to check.

The inside back cushions also known as the inside back should have zipper along the bottom edge so you can add fiber fill.

The shape of beat at them to fluff but you can sort of beat at them to rearrange like loose pillows are not shifting around you can sort of the attached hold the couch because they are much better they are much better they are not shifting around you.
My opinion the attached pillows again the couch with loose pillows ive had both but wont have to rearrange like loose pillows ive had both but you wont have to rearrange like loose pillows again the shape of beat at them to fluff but wont ever buy couch because they are much better.
