do a spot check on the back or inconspicuous area, but i have had actual luck with WD 40 to remove pen and magic marker before but not on leather.

Hair spray. Apply liberally and then blot with a clean white cloth. I can never figure out WHY this works, I just know that it does.
This tip works great for removing pen marks from leather purses as well.
