How do you keep sofa cushions from slipping forward on a sofa?

We have an overstuffed suede-like fabric sofa. The velcro strips underneath the cushions don’t hold them in place. When we sit on the sofa the cushions slip forward and at some point I have to squash them all back into place. Is there any way to keep them from slipping forward? I’ve noticed other sofas with this same problem - overstuffed or not.

      When we got a wood futon, with a canvas covered mattress, they gave us a long sheet of that rubbery, kind of knobby (woven looking?) like, shelf liner stuff that we lay between the wood and mattress…..we use it as a couch…….
