How do I stop my dog from jumping from sofa to sofa to sofa?

You could try telling him what to do instead of just what not to do. Give him a cozy, appealing place (like a dog bed on the floor with blankets to burrow in if he likes that) near you that you can instruct him to lie in. When he lies down, give him a little treat. Then open your palms so he sees you don’t have anything else; he won’t be as likely to follow you when you go sit down.
With some patience and consistency, he’ll learn that he can be with you without being on you…or the couch. Good luck!

Sounds like he simply displays the behavior that you are fine with, when company is over. You have to decide one way or another. Way too confusing to expect him to behave when there are guests. He sees your company as one more person to give him affection.
