How can I improve my sofa and loveseat without spending ^ dollars?

I would like to recover them but they want $1000 just for the sofa. I could buy a new (junk but new) one for that. I prefer to keep these because I will probably retire next year and we can throw them out at that time. They are now both covered in green vinyl that is cracked in many places. Any ideas?

      buy some slip covers they come in many colors and are inexpensive

      For just year consider buying new sofa for year then its not worth investing in expensive custom slipcovers or recovering suggest that will do for year consider buying new.
      Sofa that you can enjoy through retirement you will be able to keep the macys to keep the sofa that will be able to better.
